Within Reach

Updated: Oct 14, 2020

September is going to be an incredible ride (on a micro, and macro scale, who's surprised), and I'm excited to share my personal journey with anyone who cares to follow along. Grayson, and I are going on a month-long road trip. With the world being as crazy as it is, we decided we may as well just jump in the car and ride off in into the sunset. Well, that's not entirely true...we do have a bit of a plan mapped out. Starting from Austin, we'll go to Kansas City, then Colorado, after that to Yellowstone National Park, and then Glacier National Park, and finally to Seattle and then Portland. On the way back we plan on going through Nevada, Utah, and New Mexico. Obviously plans are great to have, but we're both of the mindset that this is supposed to unfold as we go, so who knows how that route may change. The whole thing has moved so quickly, and also feels like divine timing. We leave September 11th, and plan to return to Texas by October 11th. We are so excited to embrace the challenge of the extreme minimalism that this sort of thing requires: sharing such a small space for so long. As well as all lessons that the road has to offer. To be really candid, we both LOVE the idea of "van life" and this feels like a bit of a test for us. The highs are lows are guaranteed to be incredible. I don't want to speak too much for him, but I will say that we're feeling immensely grateful to be at a point in our lives where something like this is possible.

It began with us casually talking about how awesome it would be to go on a long road trip, and from there the pieces started falling into place. Thoughts become things, people! Manifestation is real and spoken ideas can quickly become reality, if you believe. He was ~quite easily~ able to get a month off work, and I've not yet found a "job" (to be honest, I haven't even been looking because I'm leaning into the belief that coaching and spiritual work can and will be my full time gig). We did some gas-milage math, and number crunching, simply to realize that it's more than do-able to just get in the car and go. We plan on mostly camping and eating really cheaply. I do want to acknowledge the privilege in being able to do this, while also saying, it really feels so simple. To me, it seems we often make the most simple things feel the most complicated. Fear really is the only thing that stops us. We can talk ourselves into, or out of, just about anything. There have probably been a hundred times that I've thought, "Well maybe now isn't the best time," or "Maybe I need to get more secure in Texas first," but the truth is: life is too short to not do exactly what you want, when you want to. If you're feeling inclined to make a big change in your life, or take a leap: you can do it. Just go. The universe and your higher self will always support you. You are divinely guided, and life waits for no one.

I'll be updating this blog as frequently as I have things to say, stories to share, and photos to show. Grayson and I each have creative things that we're working on, so we'll definitely be sharing our journey along the way. As mentioned above, I will leaning into my spiritual work and will have my laptop and tarot cards with me if anyone wants to schedule a reading, reiki, or coaching session. I am still available - Starbucks wifi and other hotspots will likely be a close friend of ours. Which brings me to a final note: how amazing is it to live in a world, that grants us so much opportunity? I used to think technology was a major downfall to society, but the truth is it's really beautifully beneficial if you look at it the right way. It's all about perspective. The world is crazy right now, and according to astrology transits is only going to get "crazier," but every day we get to individually make choices that literally design the reality we live in. We are the video game creators of this simulation and we can each do our part to level up the entire planet: by choosing to be our most authentic selves, by surrendering the fear of the unknown, and by embracing the remembrance that we chose (and were also chosen) to be here at this exact moment. Our purpose is plentiful. ~Your growth and peace are within reach~
